Talk 1 : Why Progressive Web Apps are the future (20min)

Are Progressive Web Apps ready to fill the shoes of native apps? Find out how Google's technologies such as Service Workers and Firebase are filling the gaps that we have been missing all this time.

Speaker: Francois van der Merwe

Francois is a web developer for Standard Bank, where he uses Angular 2 and some of the latest web technologies to develop state of the art web applications. He is also a qualified coffee to code converter and uses most of his spare time stroking his beard while staring at code.

Talk 2: Motion for UI (40 min)

A primer on animation and motion for applications and UI design, with principles that will help application developers and designers consider how to use this powerful medium to communicate, enthrall, and astound users, regardless of whether your application is something hip, or something square.

Speaker: Paul Hoets

Paul Hoets is a mobile developer at Fund Focus Mobile, and lives in South Korea. When he is not speaking Mandarin, messing with Arduino prototypes, and fitting solar panels, he is most likely browsing Dribbble.com and feeling depressed that such awesome animations are so hard to implement in real life. He is a wearer of many hats, of which Xamarin.Forms is his biggest at the moment. He is a devout Android.
